This dataset provides microdata on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on expenditure in consumer finances. It includes categories of expenditure, breaking the data down into essential, committed, discretionary and quality-of-life, plus more specific insights into areas such as mortgage and rent payments.
The data is made up of effectively anonymised personal current account records from a major UK high street banking group and is accessible at microdata level through Smart Data Foundry's Trusted Research Environment (TRE). It enables in-depth research on income patterns and categories across different demographic groups.
Please note that while the coverage is UK-wide, it is predominantly England, Scotland and Wales.
